Epigenetics

Your DNA is the blueprint for how your body builds itself. It holds the potential of creating the many different types of proteins that are the literal building blocks of your body. Epigenetics studies how your body chooses which parts to build.

How epigenetics works

Your DNA contains a countless amount of genes. Some of these genes are activated, while others are turned off. What causes this? Apparently, a lot of things. And these changes in your genes can effect not only you, but your children and your children's children.

With more research into epigenetics, we may find the causes of some diseases and may even be able to prevent them.
